The AIChE Bonds Mentorship Program offers chemical engineering undergraduates a chance to get more involved and builder stronger connections with their peers. We will be hold bonding activities throughout the year for all of those in the program!
This year pairings will form families which will consist of 2-3 underclassmen (1st/2nd years and 1st-year transfers), 2 upperclassmen (3rd year and above) and a UCI ChemE alumnus.
A mentee consists of an underclassman (1st, 2nd, or transfer) looking to get more involved with AIChE and interested in having an upperclassman friend/role model. Mentees will have the opportunity to learn from their mentor about future chemical engineering classes and any professional experience that their mentor may have. If you are new to UCI, mentors can also show their mentee around campus.
A mentorconsists an upperclassman (3rd, 4th, or 5th) seeking to building leadership experience and the opportunity to provide social and academic guidance to an underclassman peer. Mentors can use this opportunity to pass down their knowledge on previous chemical engineering classes and help guide their mentee to success at the beginning of their chemical engineering career.
Once you’ve been paired with a mentor/mentee, encourage one another to come out to AIChE events! All interested AIChE members are encouraged to apply.
